800 Block Tour is a Success

On Thursday, October 13, 2005 the HPCDC, ELDI, & Pennsylvania Senator Jim Ferlo showcased the recent work in the 800 block of Mellon Street by offering tours of some of the properties being renovated, including the Sutherland Apartments at 839 Mellon Street. HPCDC Board member Charlie Peterson led the program by giving an overview of the project and thanking the many individuals and organizations who have been involved, including Senator Ferlo, Councilman Len Bodack's office, Mayor Tom Murphy, ELDI, the URA, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Citizen's bank, Sky Bank, and the Union Project. The apartments will be available for rental soon. The houses are due to be completed in the first half of 2006.
